Early Life/Biography
Rick Riordan was born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 5, 1964. Riordan attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas, born and reared. He went to Texas State University to study music before transferring to Texas Austin to learn English and History.
He then earned a teaching certificate from the University of Texas at San Antonio and spent eight years in San Francisco teaching English and Social Studies.

Family
Rick’s mother, Lyn Belisle, and father, Rick Riordan Sr., welcomed him into the world on June 5, 1964.
Rick was born and reared in the Texas city of San Antonio. His parents were both teachers, and his mother was a musician and an artist, and his father was a ceramic.
Colouring the Folk Art of Mexico and THE CIT CONSORTIUM: SOCIAL LEGAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES are two publications by Lyn Belisle Rick’s mother.
Career
Rick has loved writing since he was a child. He attempted and failed numerous times during his adolescent years to publish his short works, and Rick was named editor of the high school newspaper at school.
Riordan did not take writing seriously until graduating from college and teaching in San Francisco.
Haley Riordan, Rick’s Son, diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, had a strong interest in Greek mythology, which his father taught. Then, when Haley was in second grade, Haley often asked Rick to tell him stories based on Greek myths.

To meet his son’s desire, Riordan hastily created Percy Jackson, a twelve-year-old kid who finds he is indeed the son of a Greek God. Riordan created a wonderfully crafted fantasy tale about Percy’s mission to retrieve Zeus’ lightning bolt in present-day America.
Rick completed the story in three nights, and Haley demanded that he write it like a book. Riordan took the time to draw up the story so he wouldn’t upset his kid.
Riordan ascribed several dyslexic features to Percy to express his sympathy and caring for dyslexic children. As a result, Riordan’s world-famous Percy Jackson trilogy was born.
Despite his hectic schedule, Rick found time in his day to create the first Percy Jackson & the Olympians children’s book. In honor of his kid, he gave Percy some particular characteristics.

Rick Riordan is the author of many popular book series. “Percy Jackson & the Olympians“, his series, was a huge hit. Twentieth Century Fox bought the film rights to the series and published a feature movie based on it in February 2010.
Following the popularity of the novels, Riordan produced The Kane Chronicles, which includes The Red Pyramid (2010 release), The Throne of Fire (2011 release), and The Serpent’s Shadow (2012 release).
Riordan has also written The Heroes of Olympus, a successor series to his Percy Jackson books.
Although his wife and children enjoyed and felt at ease in California, Riordan craved Texas. His fondness for Texas inspired him to create a mystery thriller based in his hometown of San Antonio.

Tres Navarre, a private detective with a Ph.D. in English, was the essential character in Big Red Tequila. The novel gained positive ratings and earned Riordan three of the most prominent mystery awards.
The Lost Hero, the first book in the series, was released on October 12, 2010. The Sun of Neptune was released in 2011, while The Mark of Athena, the third book in the series, was published in October 2011.
Riordan expanded both The Kane Chronicles and The Heroes of Olympus series simultaneously. He also contributed to creating The 39 Clues, a children’s book.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus, The 39 Clues Series, Tres Navarre Series, and The Kane Chronicles are among Riordan’s five series. He also wrote Cold Springs, a stand-alone novel released in 2004. Rick Riordan, his wife, and their two sons live in San Antonio.
Relationship, Wife, Marriage, Children
Rick has two sons, Patrick and Haley, with his wife’s name being Becky Riordan. Rick Riordan married Becky, whom he had been dating since high school, on June 5, 1985. Haley has dyslexia and has ADHD.

Reading, playing the guitar, and traveling with his family are some of Rick’s favorite pastimes. In 2013, the Riordan family relocated from San Antonio to Boston.
