Austin Dillon was born to his father, Mike Dillon, and his mother, Tina Dillon. He was raised with his elder brother Ty Dillon. Mike Dillon is a former driver and Richard Childress Racing general manager.

Austin’s brother Ty Dillon is also an American professional stock car racing driver. Austin’s grandfather is Richard Childress, an American former NASCAR driver and the current team owner of Richard Childress Racing. Richard Childress is one of the wealthiest men in North Carolina.

Education

Austin Dillon attended Forsyth Country Day School for his early schooling. Later he joined High Point University.

Career

Austin Dillon started his car racing career at the Bandolero Mini Cars series and the Legend Cars Series. He became the 2008 Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Camping World East Series. He drove the No. 3 Chevrolet for Andy Santerre Motorsports.

After one year in 2009, he started his first Camping World Truck Series start at Iowa Speedway, where he drove the no. 3 Truck. Austin Dillon achieved his first career pole at Texas Motor Speedway in June. He finished third there.

Dated on July 11, he racked up his first NASCAR victory in the Lucas Oil 200 at Iowa Speedway. In 2011, Dillon chalked up his first win at Nashville Superspeedway.

On October 9, 2011, Austin got his first career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. This series took place at Kansas Speedway. He had driven his No. 98 Camping Chevrolet Impala. Next year, Austin took part in the Sprint Cup Series at Michigan International Speedway.

On October 28, 2029, Austin stepped down as the crew chief of the No. 3 team. In July 2021, Austin Dillon went back to the Xfinity Series in Atlanta, where he replaced Michael Annett because Michael Annett was suffering from a severe injury. Austin steered the No. 1 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.
