She began her career in Mexico, starring in the 1989 Telenovela Teresa and the 1985 film “El Callejón de Los Milagros” and for this particular film, she received an Ariel Award Nomination.

Salma Hayek was born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, México on 2 September 1966. Her father, Sami Hayek Dominguez, is Mexican. Diana Jimenez Medina’s mother is an opera singer and talent scout.
However, in an interview, Salma Hayek explained that she is half Lebanese and half Spanish. She also states that her grandmother was from Spain.
She has had a passion for her acting career from her childhood, and because of her love, she accepts acting and producing as her profession.

Salma Hayek was raised in a wealthy and catholic family. The father of Salma Hayek is Mexicana, and he with his ancestors hailing from the city of Baabdat, Lebanon, a city Salma and her father visited in 2015 to promote her movie Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet.

In 1994, Hayek starred in a film that has won more awards than any other movie in the history of Mexican Cinema. And for her performance in that film, she was nominated for the Ariel Award.
From 1993 to 1999, she worked as an actress and producer in several films.
