Mark Levin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S., to Jack E. Levin and Norma Levin. His father was a published author, and it was his influence that made Mark Levin a renowned writer.

In his childhood, he grew up with two brothers in Erdenheim and Elkins Park. He started his early education in the elementary schools located in that area.

Education

Mark Levin excelled in his studies and graduated from Cheltenham High School after three years, in 1974. He skipped his senior year of high school and pursued higher studies at Temple University Ambler.

He graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Political Science in 1977 at the age of only 19. He chose this stream out of his sheer interest and had conservative views from the very beginning of his career.

Later that year, he won the election to the Cheltenham school board on a platform of reducing property taxes. In 1980, he earned a J.D. degree from “Temple University Beasley School of Law”, and by 1981, he had already started working for Texas Instruments.

Career

Mark Levin first worked for Texas Instruments, however, gradually, he started his political career too. He served as an advisor to the politicians in President Ronald Reagan’s cabinet. He also contributed significantly to laying the foundation of “ACTION”, a federal domestic volunteer agency.

Then, he started working for the Republican Party and was hired as the chief of staff to Edwin in the Reagan cabinet. After a few years, he left the government sector and began working in the private sector.

Later in 1997, he was chosen as the president of a law firm named, “Landmark Legal Foundation”. Under his presidency, the law firm filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission in 2000.

The complaint alleged the National Education Association not disclosing their expenses on political activity for which he was awarded the Ronald Reagan Award. According to the reports of 2014, Mark Levin was earning at least $300,000 annually as the president of Landmark Legal Foundation. 

In his career, he has appeared on a number of shows and shared his conservative views on TV. Soon, he became a regular guest on “The Rush Limbaugh Show” and “The Sean Hannity Show”.

Inspired by this, he started his own show in 2006 – The Mark Levin Show, which featured him as a right-wing Nationalist. In November 2018, he was inducted into the ‘National Radio Hall of Fame’.

In 2019, he authored the book, ‘Unfreedom of the Press’ which was listed at the top of ‘The New York Times Best Seller’. However, the media criticized this book as it lacked concrete facts.
