Keira Knightly was born on 26 March 1985 in the Teddington suburb of London. She was meant to be named Keira, but her father wanted to give her name Kira, but her mother misspelled her name when she was registering her daughter’s birth certificate.
From early on, Keira wanted to become an actress because her mother inspired her. And because of her passion for drama, she was admitted to drama school with her mother’s financial support.

Keira was born in Teddington, and her father’s name is Will Knightley, a famous theatre and TV actor.
Her mother, Sharman Macdonald, also worked as an actress initially, but later she quit this field and instead of this, she chose the playwright. She also has a brother named Caleb Knightley.
