James Dennis Alan Denny Hamlin, a.k.a, Denny Hamlin, took birth in Tampa, Florida, and was raised in Chesterfield, Virginia. He spent his significant childhood days in Chesterfield. When he was just seven years old, he started racing go-karts.

Career

Denny Hamlin started his career at the age of seven. At the age of 15 in 1997, he won the WKA manufacturing cup. After just one year, he started racing Minostocks.

In 2005, Denny replaced Mike Bliss in the No. 20 Rockwell Automation Chevrolet, though he became 5th in the final championship. At the Kansas Speedway, Denny made his debut in the No. 11 FedEx Chevrolet for the 2006 season.

Denny Hamlin was the first Rookie of the Year candidate who took home the Shootout victory. In 2006, Denny started his first career Cup Series at the Pocono 500. He also got the second achievement of his career, dated July 23, 2006, in the Pennsylvania 500.

Denny Hamlin earned the Raybestos Rookie of the Year award for his field excellence. Denny became the first-ever Rookie to make the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup.

Denny started his 2014 season by winning Sprint Unlimited. In the Daytona 500, Hamlin became the fan-favorite because he won the race.

At the Brickyard 400, Hamlin ended up being 3rd. He finished 4th and had one of the best cars of Speedweeks in 2015.
