Early Life/Biography
Cardi B was born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar in The Bronx, New York, on October 11, 1992. The “Bodak Yellow” singer is of Dominican and Trinidadian ancestry, with her father representing Dominican and her mother as Trinidadian.
Cardi spent most of her childhood in Washing Heights with her grandmother, and when she was old enough, she enrolled at Renaissance High School For Musical Theater & Technology.
Cardi was a member of the Bloods Gang when she was a teenager. As she proudly stated, she eventually had to become a stripper to escape violent relationships and poverty.
